Handcrafting in the Round
Our log structures are handcrafted using the piece sur piece method, a superior form of joinery that combines the strength and stability of post and beam with the beauty and tight fit of scribed logs. First utilized by early settlers, this style has been described as the "true Canadian log house ".
With this type of construction, short logs of eight feet and less are used, making it possible for those that have woodlots to supply their own material. The wood of preference is cedar, but pine as well as other species may be used. If you can not supply your own timber, be assured that the material we supply has been harvested using good forestry practices. For more information, please see our brochure.
We also build log bunkies, log staircases with twig railings, and manufacture cedar shingles. Let us know what your plans are, and we'd be happy to give you any needed advice as well as a price estimate.
